Residential Inpatient
What is Residential Inpatient?
Royal Life Centers at Puget Sound, our detox and residential treatment facility located in Sumner, is a structured inpatient treatment program with a focus on the redevelopment of life skills and reintegration into daily life. Designed to follow medical detox, residential inpatient consists of group five hours per day, seven days a week. Individual therapy sessions are also provided regularly. Inpatient guests receive 24/7 medical monitoring by our staff to ensure comfort at all stages of withdrawal and early recovery.
We treat addiction as a chronic brain disease and work to uncover the root causes of substance abuse. At all stages of treatment, guests receive psychiatric care and assistance with medication management. Guests also work closely with their therapist to create an Individual Service Plan (ISP) tailored to meet their unique needs. The skills learned and tools developed in individual and group therapy sessions are essential to building a support network outside of treatment and creating a new, sober life.
We believe that Royal Life Centers at Puget Sound’s small, intimate setting is best-suited to guests’ comfort and safety. Our spacious, modern facility overlooking the beautiful Puget Sound features rooms with plasma TVs, an Xbox console in the common area, and supervised outdoor spaces where guests can enjoy views of the Cascades. Residential guests are provided three chef-prepared meals per day in addition to 24/7 access to snacks and beverages.
Designed to accommodate guests just beginning their recovery journey, our program offers a multi-faceted approach. Our residential inpatient program includes individual and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, recreational opportunities, relapse prevention, education on gender-specific issues, trauma resolution, grief and loss, anger management, depression, and 12 step meetings. Our goal is that guests will leave our care with a deeper understanding of themselves as well as their addiction. All while learning how to stay sober, and developing confidence in their recovery.
These activities and sessions restore mind, body, and spirit and broaden guests’ potential for long-term recovery and sobriety. During residential treatment, guests must attend group unless deemed medically unable. Guests also participate in daily individual therapy sessions; attend community 12 step meetings and speaker appearances; and may opt to engage in community service.
