Outpatient Program (OP)

Our Outpatient Program

Once a guest has finished our twelve-week aftercare program—PHP to IOP— they may choose to continue treatment with us at the outpatient level. Our outpatient program (OP) is a less structured, more flexible form of aftercare. It has been carefully designed for those who are employed and self-sufficient in functioning on their own in everyday life. At this point, guests have rebuilt much of their physical and mental health following our programs and are ready to begin a new, sober life.

Outpatient Program (OP)

Outpatient programming at Royal Life Centers at Sound Recovery offers guests an aftercare option to follow the more intensive twelve-week program. Our OP program helps prepare guests for living on their own again. While in Sound Recovery’s outpatient program (OP), therapy session frequency is determined by the guest and their therapist. The regularity of therapy appointments is determined by what each guest needs at this stage of continuing care, with mandatory minimum attendance of one therapy session— group or individual—per month.

Outpatient and Sober Living

After a guest completes our 12-week program and attains employment, they are invited to relocate to our Graduate Housing while in outpatient. The Graduate Housing at Royal Life Centers at Sound Recovery provides a continuum of care within Royal’s treatment resources including staff, therapy, and medical care. Unlike our sober living options during treatment in Sound Recovery’s twelve-week aftercare program (PHP and IOP), Graduate Housing is exclusively for Royal alumni who have finished the entirety of our twelve-week program. However, this is optional and some guests choose to live at home throughout outpatient care. Whether at home or in sober living, guests attend groups if specified in the individualized treatment plan they create with their therapist. Our in-house sober living staff is also available 24/7. All bedrooms and living rooms have flatscreen TVs, with washers and dryers available on the premises. Guests may also obtain overnight passes, as well as have visitors on the property. Guests are also provided daily transportation to meetings (AA, NA, etc.) and the grocery store. Nightly curfews and regular UA tests hold guests accountable and re-teaches what it means to take responsibility for their actions. It is critical to learn impulse control and create a foundation upon which to build self-sufficiency. It is also important that guests are able to make sound decisions based on anticipated outcomes. Our goal is that guests leave our care feeling confident in their sobriety.
