Our philosophy

At Royal Life Centers, we believe that all guests deserve the opportunity to experience life in its fullest, purest form. Our philosophy is that every one has the capacity to recover. We take it as our purpose to uncover the root cause of your addiction so that together, we can re-build a life rooted in happiness, health, and meaning in sobriety.

  • Medical Detox

    A 4 or 8 Day Medically-Assisted Detoxification Program.

  • Residential Inpatient

A 2-Week Program Focused on Intensive Therapy.

  • Outpatient

A 9-Week Program That Prepares You For Independence and Success in Sobriety.

Our admissions department is open 24/7.

It is never a bad time to give us a call and ask for help. We will never have any type of automated system answering our phone calls. All of our admissions coordinators are knowledgable about addiction and the rehabilitation process. Most of our admissions coordinators are alumni of our programs, so they know every detail about each program and how it works— in addition to being a living example of success in recovery.

Medical Detox

Our medical detox program is carefully designed to provide both medical excellence and clinical care. Our medical professionals are on-site 24 hours a day, ensuring your safety and comfort during the detox process. We begin our detox program with a full evaluation and assessment to determine medical history, current medical conditions, the presence of any psychological conditions or co-occuring disorders, and more information. Our evaluation and assessment provide a foundation for the customized detox protocol our medical and clinical team will devise with you. We provide detox medication in order to help you detox safely, efficiently, and comfortably. In addition to medical care, we also begin therapeutic clinical work during detox. We believe it would be a disservice not to provide therapy during detox.

Residential Inpatient

Our traditional inpatient program is anything but traditional. Packed with dozens of therapeutic courses and evidence-based practices, we bring on various methods of therapy to appeal to different parts of the healing process. Our residential inpatient program is designed to be intensive and efficient in helping you uncover the root cause of your addiction. You will also be working individually with the same primary therapist that you began therapeutic work with during detox. To keep you focused on your recovery, we provide amenities like laundry services, an in-house chef who prepares three meals/day, a fully-stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages open 24 hours/day, and case management services to help you sort out any ongoing situations like legal cases or filing FMLA paperwork.
*FMLA paperwork is to request a medical leave of absence from your employer.

Outpatient Continuing Care

We provide an in-depth and comprehensive outpatient program, because we want to see our guests flourish in recovery. Individuals who successfully complete a longer-term program or full continuum of care are statistically more likely to achieve lasting sobriety. In order to offer the best outpatient program for alcoholism, we separated our outpatient programming into three phases— a partial-hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and an outpatient program (OP). Each of the three phases last for three weeks, making our entire outpatient program 9-Weeks in length. Each phase will allow for more freedoms and responsibilities, while still maintaining consistent accountability and support. We offer employment specialists, continuing education programs, job placement services, and transportation to and from 12-step support meetings.

The Admissions Process

We know that when you are asking for help, it’s important to streamline the process as much as possible to get you help right away. Since we’ve been helping people for over ten years, we have made the admissions process simple and quick. Here is exactly how the admissions process works:

  1. Call in and tell us a little bit about what’s going on and some basic information for the individual seeking treatment. We will use this information to create a chart in our confidential EMR (electronic medical records) system, so that when you call back in we will can find your information quickly to continue building the chart for your admission.
  2. Gather your insurance information, or discuss payment options for the treatment program(s) you have decided on. This step can be tackled in your initial call also, but because we get basic information in our first call, any admissions coordinator will be able to add on information to your chart so that when you are ready for treatment, everything is ready to go.
  3. Do a 5-10 minute pre-assessment. This pre-assessment takes place over the phone, and just takes a short amount of time. During the pre-assessment, the individual looking to enter our treatment program will be asked questions about their substance abuse history, medical history, motivation for treatment, and current health conditions. We have also added a COVID-19 protocol, before your in-person screening during your admission.
  4. Schedule your date and time to come into the facility to formally admit.
  5. Come to the facility at your scheduled time!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long are your programs?

A: Our detox program is either 4 or 8 days, depending on the severity of your withdrawal symptoms. Residential Inpatient runs for 2-weeks, but can be extended to 30 days if you wish. Our Outpatient Program is 9-Weeks in length. If you wanted to do our full continuum of care, you would be looking at a length of about 3 months total.

Q: What if I needed a longer program?

A: Our full continuum of care (detox, residential, and outpatient) is about 3 months in length, however, if you wanted to continue care with us on an outpatient level, we also offer outpatient programming with or without housing. Our housing for outpatient guests is a sober living facility close to our clinical building.

Q: Am I allowed to have visitors during rehab?

A: Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are not permitted to allow any family members or friends into our facility or onto our campus at any time. During your medical detox, we enact what’s called a “black out period” which just means you are not permitted to make phone calls to friends and family— however, if you choose to sign a release of information, your family members and friends can call our facility every day if they want to hear how you’re doing and your overall progress. Family members and friends are also allowed to send letters or care packages, which will be searched thoroughly before being passed along to their loved one.

Q: What therapies are available?

A: The way our programs are structured allow for you to choose which therapy types you would like to use, as well as which group therapy courses you would like, based on your needs and goals. Our therapies include, but are not limited to: rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational enhancement therapy, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), music therapy, equine therapy, experiential therapy, biofeedback, etc.

Q: Are you a 12-step based program?

A: We do integrate our curriculum with 12-step support groups like Alcoholic’s Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous and 12-step themes, however we offer and support multiple programs of recovery. We use an abstinence-based, holistic model of addiction treatment.

Q: How much does your treatment cost?

A: Our cost for treatment is dependent on your insurance coverage, policy plan and benefits. If you do not currently have health insurance, we also offer a private payment option which is one of the most affordable rates across the country for a private rehabilitation center. The best way to find out your insurance coverage is by calling our admissions department with your insurance information in hand, our admissions coordinators will take a look at your specific policy and give you an accurate overview of any remaining deductible, active benefits, and any out of pocket expenses.

"My son has finished detox, and treatment at the Sumner facility. He has been to other treatment centers in western Washington. None have worked.... Until now. Royal Life has been the answer to my prayers. Like I said he finished up at Sumner then moved on to the live in facility, "The Haven" He's the happiest I've seen him in ten + years now. He has joy in his life again. And a clear picture where he wants be in the future. I have to say one of the things that separates Royal Life from others. Is, he had one councillor his whole stay. So they were always on the same page. I can't say enough how much I appreciate what they have done for my son, And me as well. I appreciate all the staff and all the help they've been to us. A special shout out to Frank, and Louis in Sumner. And Margaurette in Lacey. Also, to my son Lucas. For his willingness to try again. Thank you so very much for all your help. I appreciate you so much.

    Sincerely. Alan R.

Update: It's been several months now. He's just finished up nine week. And moved to grad house. My original post. Doesn't even come close to describing what a positive, life changing, experience it's been for not only my son, but myself as well. All the worried sleepless nights, all the frustration, all the behaviors that go along with the addicted, and those who love them. What Royal Care has done for my son is so far above and beyond what I hoped for. My son is clean and sober. He has spark again, and the fire is getting more intense every day. He's working has a great job. Has excellent support all around him. He's done the work, and looks forward to everyday. I can't thank Royal Care enough. I recommend them so far above and beyond any other facility that we have dealt with. Thanks again so very much to Royal Care."
